THE MANKATO DESIGN CENTER is a custom, all in one design center showcasing five independent businesses which include The Design Element, Lights on Madison, Artisans, Cabinet Lab, and R. Henry Construction. MDC provides furnishings, design services, and products for your home or business, as well as residential and commercial new construction and remodeling services, all under one roof. Our setting was custom designed and built to accommodate each business and it’s specific needs.

THE MDC is made up of a network of collaborating professionals including experienced drafters, builders, designers, and artisans who share our vision. The unique distinction of having builders and interior designers, as well as furnishings and products all in one firm means our clients benefit from a collaborative approach, integrated to create spaces that are stunning as well as functional. Our holistic approach means our clients find our projects to be a harmonious, cohesive whole.

R. HENRY CONSTRUCTION is a full service construction company providing a broad range of services including drafting and project design, residential and commercial new construction and remodeling, and interior design services. Both larger scale and smaller size projects are welcome. We specialize in providing design driven, custom building solutions.

THE DESIGN ELEMENT is a full-service interior design studio specializing in residential and commercial projects. Established in 2009, we are located in the heart of the Mankato Design Center. Our unique location allows us the opportunity to help you with all your building and design needs in one convenient setting.

Our goal is to create thoughtful, beautiful interiors that meet our clients’ aesthetic, functional, and economic goals while honoring our client’s schedules. We help you understand and define your desires, then create a design that accommodates and elaborates on your objectives.

Our designers can manage your project from beginning to end and act as your liaison to ensure that your desired goals are met. We want the space to be representative of you and to be the environment you aspire to reside within.
